Ingredients list for Chooda Matar
- 1 1/2 cups Pressed rice (poha)
- 1/2 cup Green peas (matar) boiled
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
- 12-14 Cahewnuts halved
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- to sprinkle Nylon sev
Method
- Soak pressed rice in sufficient water. Squeeze and set aside.
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add bay leaves and cumin seeds, mix and sauté till the seeds change colour.
- Add green chillies and ginger, mix and sauté for a minute. Add cashewnuts and mix well.
- Add green peas, mix and cook for a minute. Add salt and toss well. Add garam masala powder and mix well.
- Discard bay leaves, add pressed rice, mix well and let it get heated through.
- Sprinkle sev on top and serve hot.
