Ingredients list for Chonkha Matar
- 2 cups Green Peas
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1 inch piece Ginger chopped
- 1 Green chilli chopped
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- for garnish Ginger thin strips
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and saute till they change colour. Add ginger and green chilli and sauté till one minute.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder, mix well and sauté for half a minute. Add green peas and toss to mix.
- Cook till they are tender. Add salt and garam masala powder and mix well. Add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well. Garnish with ginger strips and serve hot.
