Ingredients list for Chicken Pulao
- 400 grams Chicken
- 1 1/2 cups Rice soaked in warm water for 10-15 minutes
- 1 tablespoon Ghee
- 2 medium Onions
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 inch stick Cinnamon
- 8-10 Green cardamom
- 4-5 Cloves
- 20-25 Black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon Red chilli powder
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- 3 cups Chicken stock
- to taste Salt
Method
- Heat ghee in a handi. Finely slice onions. Add bay leaves, cinnamon, green cardamoms, cloves, black peppercorns and cumin seeds to the handi and sauté till fragrant. Add onions and sauté.
- Cut chicken breasts into diagonal pieces.When onions turn light brown, add chicken pieces and ginger-garlic paste and mix. Sauté for 4-5 minutes. Add red chilli powder and yogurt and mix.
- Add chicken stock and mix.Add rice and salt and mix well. Cover and cook for 6-8 minutes or till both rice and chicken are done.Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
