Ingredients list for Cabbage Chana Dal With Shrimps
- 1/2 medium Cabbage
- 1/2 cup Split Bengal Gram soaked
- 1/4 cup Shrimps
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 medium Onion
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
- 10-12 Curry leaves
- 4 Dried red chillies broken
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoons Scraped coconut
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 2 Green chillies
Method
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Chop onion in a chopper. Add mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, red chillies and onion and saute for 1 minute.
- Drain and add chana dal and mix. Chop cabbage roughly and add. Add salt, turmeric powder and saute, stirring, for a while.Add shrimps, coconut, garam masala powder and stir well.
- Slit green chillies and add along with 2 tbsps water, cover the cooker and cook under pressure on medium heat for 5 minutes.Switch off heat and let it cook in the steam for some time. Open the lid and serve hot.
