Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 4-5 cloves
- 8-10 black peppercorns
- 12-15 cauliflower florets
- 1 medium carrot, peeled and cut into cubes
- 1 cup long pieces of French beans
- 1 cup green peas
- 10-12 button onions
- 2 tablespoons refined flour (maida)
- Salt to taste
- 2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Method
- Heat butter in a deep non-stick pan. Add onions and sauté till well-browned.
- Add cinnamon, cloves and peppercorns and mix well. Add potatoes, cauliflower, carrot, beans and green peas. Mix well and cook on high heat for 1 minute.
- Add button onions, mix again and add 3 cups water. Mix, cover and cook on high heat till it comes to a boil.
- Remove cover, mix well, cover and simmer for 6-8 minutes or till vegetables are tender.
- Mix refined flour with ½ cup water well ensuring that there are no lumps. Add this to the pan and mix. Add 1½ cups water and mix again.
- Add salt, tomatoes and mix well. Add Worcestershire sauce and mix well. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot.
