Broccoli Bake

Ingredients list for Broccoli Bake

  • 1 small Broccoli separated and cut into small florets
  • 3 teaspoons Butter
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons Garlic chopped
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 8-10 Button mushrooms cut into quarters
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • 1/2 cup Macaroni boiled
  • 2 teaspoons Red chilli flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Refined flour (maida)
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 4 tablespoons Processed cheese grated
  • 3 tablespoons Mozzarella cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese powder


  1. Preheat oven at 180°C.
  2. Heat 1 teaspoon butter in a non-stick pan. Add 2 teaspoons chopped garlic and sauté well.
  3. Add onion, mix and sauté till onion turns light brown. Add broccoli, mix well and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add mushrooms, mix and sauté for a minute. Add salt, crushed peppercorns, mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Add macaroni, 1 teaspoon red chilli flakes, mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  6. Heat remaining butter in another non-stick pan. Add remaining garlic and sauté well.
  7. Add refined flour, whisk well and cook on low heat for a minute.
  8. Add milk and cook further, stirring continuously, till the sauce thickens.
  9. Add salt, 1 tablespoon processed cheese and crushed peppercorns and mix well. Cook for a minute and switch off heat.
  10. Spread half the cooked macaroni, broccoli and mushroom in a casserole dish. Top with 2 tablespoons processed cheese and 2 tablespoons mozzarella cheese and pour some of the sauce over and spread evenly.
  11. Spread remaining cooked macaroni, broccoli and mushrooms on top, pour the remaining sauce over and spread evenly. Tap slightly and top with remaining processed cheese and mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese powder. Sprinkle crushed peppercorns and remaining red chilli flakes on top.
  12. Put the dish in preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes.
  13. Serve hot.
