Ingredients list for Bread Upma-SK Khazana

  • 5-6 Brown bread slices
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 2 sprigs Curry leaves
  • 1 Medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 Green chilli chopped
  • 1 Green chilli slit
  • 1 Medium potato peeled and cut into cubes
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • for garnish Fresh coriander sprig

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add mustard seeds and sauté till the seeds splutter. Add cumin seeds and curry leaves and sauté till leaves crackle.
  2. Add onions and sauté till it turns translucent. Add chopped and slit green chillies and potatoes and mix.
  3. Add some water, salt and turmeric powder, mix well, cover and cook till the potatoes are done.
  4. Cut bread slices into small cubes, add to the pan and mix well. Add some water, mix and let it get heated through.
  5. Switch off heat, add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well.
  6. Garnish with coriander sprig and serve hot.
