Ingredients
- 4-8 medium onions
 - 2 cups refined flour (maida)
 - Salt to taste
 - ½ teaspoon dried thyme
 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
 - ½ teaspoon dried oregano
 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
 - 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
 - 1 tablespoon paprika
 - Black pepper powder to taste
 - 1 cup milk
 - 2 eggs
 - 2 tablespoons malt vinegar
 - Oil for deep-frying
 
Method
- Mix together flour, salt, cayenne, paprika, thyme, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper powder in a bowl.
 - Whisk together milk, eggs, vinegar, pepper powder and salt in another bowl.
 - Make 8 slits on the onions without cutting through. Separate the layers to create flowers.
 - Dust the onion flowers with the flour mixture and dip in the milk mixture. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.
 - Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry the onions till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
 - Serve hot with green mayonnaise and tomato ketchup.
