This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 03 Dec 2014 in Recipes Veg New Update Main Ingredients Tomato, Dates Cuisine Indian Course Pickles, Jams and Chutneys Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 6-10 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Bhune Tamatar Ki Chutney 8 medium Tomato 1 tablespoon Dates 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon Onion seeds (kalonji) 1/4 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf) 2 Dried red chillies 8-10 Dates, stoned and chopped 1 cup Sugar 1 tablespoon Tamarind pulp to taste Salt Method Keep the tomatoes on direct flame and roast till the outer skin gets charred. Set them aside to cool. Grind them coarsely. Heat the oil in a non stick pan. Add the fenugreek sees, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, onion seeds and fennel seeds and sauté till fragrant. Add the red chillies and stir. Add the ground tomatoes and stir. Add the dates, sugar and cook for two minutes. Add the tamarind pulp and mix well. Add salt and a little water and cook for two to three minutes. Serve as an accompaniment.
