Ingredients for Bhakri Pizza Recipe

  • Readymade pearl millet (bajra) dough as required

  • Pearl millet (bajra) flour for dusting

  • Oil 1 teaspoon

  • Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Garlic , chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Onion , finely chopped 1 medium

  • Tomatoes , blanched, peeled, pureed 2 medium

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Mozzarella cheese , grated as required

  • Red capsicum , cut into triangles 1 medium

  • Green capsicum , cut into triangles 1 medium

  • Corn kernels , boiled 1/2 cup

  • Cheese sauce as required

  • Black olives , halved to garnish

  • Black olives , sliced to garnish


Step 1

To prepare pizza sauce, heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and garlic and mix well. Add onion, mix and sauté till translucent.

Step 2

Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt, mix well and sauté till oil separates.

Step 3

Sprinkle bajra flour on worktop, keep the dough on it and roll into a thick disc.

Step 4

Heat a non-stick tawa and place the disc on it and cook for 3-4 minutes. Flip and cook on other side till golden brown specs appear.

Step 5

While the bhakri is still on the pan, spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on it, sprinkle mozzarella cheese in the centre, sprinkle red and green capsicum triangles, boiled corn kernels on top. Cover and cook on low heat till cheese melts completely.

Step 6

Transfer the pizza on a serving plate.

Step 7

Put cheese sauce in a piping bag and pipe out cheese sauce on top of pizza in the shape of spider web. Place a halved black olive in centre. Place 6 halved olives around. Now place black olive slices as legs of the spider. Cut into wedges and serve hot.
