You should always stack your fridge with at least a dozen of them. Why? Handiest food to have around! Kids are hungry? Make some egg sandwiches. Guests come in, make an egg curry or egg biryani. You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Anda Pav Toast - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Eggs 8

  • Pavs 4

  • Salt to taste

  • Onion chopped 4 tablespo to serve

  • Green chilies chopped 3-4

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 4 tablespoons

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Butter 8 teaspoons

  • Tomato ketchup to serve


Step 1

Break in the eggs and sprinkle salt, whisk well using a fork.

Step 2

Heat oil in a non-stick tawa, pour the egg mixture, sprinkle onion, tomatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves, red chilli powder and garam masala powder and cook for 1 minute.

Step 3

Cut the pavs in half without cutting them through and place them on the eggs mixture and press gently.

Step 4

Cook for 1-2 minutes, flip and bring the sides of the cooked egg mixture into the center of the pavs. Fold the pavs, press gently and apply 4 tsps butter on top. Cook for a minute more.

Step 5

Flip the pavs and apply the remaining butter on top and press using a masher till the pavs turn crisp.

Step 6

Take the tawa off the heat and place the anda pav toast on a worktop. Cut them in half and place them on a serving plate.

Step 7

Serve hot with onion and tomato ketchup.
