You are hungry? Poach an egg and have it topped with stir fried veggies – perfect protein source for the body! Check the freshness – keep a raw egg in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will stay at the bottom while stale eggs stand on end or float.

Ingredients for Anda Kaleji Tak-a-Tak Recipe

  • Eggs hard boiled, peeled and chopped roughly 6

  • Mutton liver (kaleji) boiled and cut into 1/2 inch pieces 200 grams

  • Medium onions peeled 2

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger-garlic paste 2 tablespoons

  • Medium tomatoes finely chopped 4

  • Green chillies finely chopepd 2

  • Red chilli powder 1 tablespoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 2 teaspoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander sprigs chopped A few

  • Ginger cut into thin strips 1 inch

Method

Step 1

Quarter the onions, put them into a chopper jar and chop roughly.

Step 2

Heat oil in a thick bottomed non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and when they begin to change colour, add onions, mix and saute for 2 minutes. Add ginger-garlic paste, mix and saute till the raw smells disappear.

Step 3

Add mutton liver pieces and mix well on high heat. Add tomatoes and green chillies and mix.

Step 4

Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder, mix well and saute for ½ minute. Add 1 cup water and mix well. Add salt, mix well and cook.

Step 5

Add eggs and mix well. Add coriander leaves, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 6

Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot garnished with thin strips of ginger.
