This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Jul 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Chilli Pickle, Bengal Gram ( Chana) Cuisine Indian Course Rice Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Achari Chana Pulao 1/4 cup Chilli Pickle 3/4 cup Bengal Gram ( Chana) Soaked, drained and boiled in plenty of water 1 cup Basmati rice soaked 2-3 tablespoons Oil 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds 10-12 Cloves 2 Bay leaves 4-5 Black cardamoms 20-25 Black peppercorns to taste Salt 2 medium Tomatoes cut into wedges 1/2 tablespoon Lemon juice 2-3 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped Method Drain the chane and reserve the water in which they were cooked. Heat oil in a deep nonstick pan, add cumin seeds, cloves, bay leaves, black cardamoms, black peppercorns and sauté till fragrant. Add kale chane and mix. Add basmati rice and mix. Add chilli pickle and mix. Add ¾ cup of the reserved cooking liquour. Add a little Tata salt lite and mix. Add tomato wedges and mix. Add 1¼ cups Bisleri water, cover and cook, till the rice is done. Add lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
