Ingredients list for Pyaaz Ki Tarkari
- 4-5 medium Onion
- 3 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Onion seeds (kalonji)
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 4-5 Green chilli, halved
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Fennel seed (saunf) powder
- 1 tablespoon Tamarind paste
- 3 tablespoons Jaggery (gur), grated
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick wok. Quarter the onions and separate into 2 layers.
- When the oil is hot add onions seeds and sauté lightly. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add onions and sauté till the onions soften. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, fennel powder, tamarind paste and jaggery.
- Add a little water and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot.
