Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Paneer Anar Recipe

  • Cottage Cheese 200 grams

  • Fresh Pomegranate Juice 3 cups

  • Fresh pomegranate pearls 2 tablespoons

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Onions chopped 1 cup

  • Poppy seeds (khuskhus/posto) soaked 2 tablespoons

  • Cashewnuts soaked 10-12

  • Ginger 1 1/2 inch cloves

  • Salt to taste

  • Red chilli powder 3/4 teaspoon

  • Yogurt whisked 2 tablespoons

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a non stick pan, add onions and sauté till golden. Grind poppy seeds, cashewnuts and ginger to a fine paste. Add pomegranate juice to the pan and bring it to a boil.

Step 2

Cut paneer into different shapes and add to the pan. Add salt, red chilli powder, ground masala and mix gently.

Step 3
