History of Indian cuisine dates back to nearly 5,000-years ago when various groups and cultures interacted with India that led to a diversity of flavours and regional cuisines.

Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Muzzafar Recipe

  • Vermicelli 100 grams

  • Raisins wash and pat dry 8-10

  • Ghee 1/4 cup

  • Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Milk 1/2 cup

  • Sunflower seeds (charoli/chironji) 1 teaspoon

  • Almonds slivered 5-6

  • Cashewnuts chopped 4-5

  • Silver warq 1

Method

Step 1

Break roasted vermicelli with hand and keep aside. Take ghee in a pan and add cardamom powder and sugar.

Step 2

Cook on low heat, stirring continuously, for two to three minutes.

Step 3

Add milk and continue to cook for two to three minutes. Add broken vermicelli and continue to cook for four to five minutes or till vermicelli is dry.

Step 4

Serve hot garnished with chironji, raisins, almonds, cashewnuts and silver warq.
