Ingredients list for Methi Murgh

  • 1/4 small bunches Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi) chopped
  • 800 grams Chicken cut into 8 pieces on the bone
  • 1 cup Skimmed milk yogurt,whisked
  • to taste Salt
  • 4 one- inch pieces Ginger
  • 5 Green cardamoms
  • 1 Black cardamom
  • 5 Cloves
  • 2 inch piece Cinnamon
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1-2 blade Mace
  • 2 large Onions,chopped
  • 20 cloves Garlic,chopped
  • 3 Green chillies,seeded and chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 2 medium Tomatoes,chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Kasoori methi
  • 1/4 cup Fresh coriander leaves,chopped

Method

  1. Mix together whisked yogurt and salt in a large bowl. Add chicken and let it marinate for about half an hour. Chop half the ginger and cut the remaining into julienne.
