Ingredients list for Masalapara
- 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
- 1/2 cup Refined Flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
- 2 teaspoons Chaat masala
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 cloves Garlic finely chopped
Method
- Mix the two flours and baking powder.
- Add ghee and rub in with fingertips to get a mixture resembling breadcrumbs.
- Add salt, carom seeds, chaat masala, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garlic .
- Add sufficient cold water and knead into a stiff dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for some time
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease a baking tray with a little oil and sprinkle refined flour on it.
- Sprinkle some refined flour on a flat surface and roll out the dough into a half-centimeter thick disc.
- Cut the rolled out dough into diamond shaped pieces .
- Place them on the baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for fifteen to twenty minutes.
- Serve hot or cool completely and store in an airtight container.
