Ingredients for Lahori Fish Fry Recipe

  • Fish fillet boneless, cut into 2 inch pieces 250 grams

  • Coriander seeds 1 tablespoon

  • Caraway seeds (shahi jeera) 1 teaspoon

  • Carom seeds (ajwain) 1 teaspoon

  • Dried pomegranate seeds (anardana) 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Black salt (kala namak) a pinch

  • Egg 1

  • Lemon ½

  • Gram flour (besan) 2-3 tablespoons

  • Chaat masala to sprinkle


Step 1

Grind together coriander seeds, caraway seeds, carom seeds and pomegranate seeds to make a fine powder.

Step 2

Take fish in a bowl. Add ground powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt, black salt, egg, lemon juice and mix. Add gram flour and mix well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 4

Deep-fry the marinated fish pieces in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 5

Sprinkle some chaat masala on top and serve hot.
