Ingredients list for Khichu

  • 1 cup Jowar flour
  • 3 Green chillies
  • 10 cloves Garlic
  • 1 inch piece Ginger
  • to taste Salt
  • a pinch Soda bicarbonate
  • 2 tablespoons Yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (til)
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder

Method

  1. Heat 1½ cups water in a deep non stick pan. Grind green chillies, garlic and ginger with a little water to a fine paste. Add this paste to the water along with salt, soda and yogurt and mix well.
  2. Add jowar atta and cook, stirring to avoid lumps.Add sesame seeds and mix. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add oil and cumin powder and mix again. Cover and cook till it leaves the sides of the pan. Serve hot immediately.
