Ingredients list for Kantola Suva Masala

  • 400 grams Kantola
  • 1 cup Dill Leaves finely chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons Oil
  • 2 Dried red chillies
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic finely chopped
  • 2-3 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 130 grams Bhuna masala
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Method

  1. Scrape the kantola and halve them. Remove the seeds. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add dried red chillies and cumin seeds and sauté till fragrant.
  2. Add ginger, garlic and green chillies and sauté for a minute. Add the kantola and mix well. Add turmeric powder and salt and toss.
  3. Add bhuna masala and mix well. Add 1 cup water and mix. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, till the vegetable becomes dry.
  4. Add dill and lemon juice and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with a dill sprig and serve hot.
