Ingredients list for Jardaloo Marghi

  • 15-20 Dried Apricots soaked
  • 800 grams Chicken cut into 1/2 cm wide long stripes cut into 8 piece
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 5 Green cardamoms
  • 1 inch stick Cinnamon
  • 3 medium Onions sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 medium Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar
  • for garnish Potato salli

Method

  1. Heat oil in a deep non stick pan.
  2. Add green cardamoms, cinnamon and onions and saute till fragrant and light golden. Remove seeds from the apricots.
  3. Add ginger paste, garlic paste and chicken to the pan and mix well and continue to saute.Add turmeric powder and mix.
  4. Add salt and tomatoes and mix well. Add red chilli powder and 1 cup water and mix well.
  5. Cover and cook till chicken is almost done. Add apricots and mix. Add vinegar and mix. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
  6. Serve hot garnished with potato salli.
