Ingredients
- 5 medium green tomatoes, roughly chopped
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 dried red chillies
Method
- Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan.
- Take ginger paste, garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder in a bowl. Add ¼ cup water and mix well.
- Add cumin seeds to the oil and sauté till light brown. Add dried red chillies and sauté for few seconds. Add the spice mixture and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Add green tomatoes and mix well. Add sufficient water and mix well. Cover and cook for 7-8 minutes or till tomatoes turn pulpy.
- Transfer the subzi into a serving bowl and serve hot.
