Ingredients for Dahi Vada Chaat-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal) soaked and drained 1 cup

  • Green chillies broken 2

  • Ginger roughly chopped 1 inch

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Yogurt as required

  • Large onion finely chopped 1

  • Large tomato finely chopped 1

  • Green chutney 2 tablespoons

  • Sweet tamarind chutney 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped as required

  • Red chilli powder a pinch

  • Chaat masala a pinch

Method

Step 1

Blend together black gram, green chillies and ginger to a fine paste. Transfer into a bowl, add salt and whisk well.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Drop small portions of the mixture into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 3

Break vadas into small pieces and place on a serving platter. Top with some yogurt, onions and tomatoes. Drizzle green chutney and tamarind chutney and sprinkle some coriander leaves. Top with some more yogurt, coriander leaves, chilli powder and chaat masala.

Step 4

Serve immediately.
