Ingredients for Couscous Makai Pulao Recipe

  • Couscous 1 cup

  • American corn kernels 1 cup

  • Olive oil 1 tablespoon

  • Butter 2 tablespoons

  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick

  • Cloves 2-3

  • Green cardamoms 2-3

  • Onion sliced 1 medium

  • Ginger chopped 1 inches

  • Garlic chopped 1/2 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Vegetable stock 1 3/4 cups

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Heat olive oil and butter in a non-stick pan, add cinnamon, cloves, green cardamoms and sauté for a minute.

Step 2

Add onions and sauté till translucent.

Step 3

Add ginger and garlic and sauté it for a minute.

Step 4

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt.

Step 5

Mix well and cook for two to three minutes.

Step 6

Add corn kernels and mix well and cook for two to three minutes.

Step 7

Add couscous and cook for a few minutes.

Step 8

Add vegetable stock and coriander leaves and mix well.

Step 9

Cover and cook on medium heat till all the water is absorbed.

Step 10

Serve hot.
