Keep it in the refrigerator to marinate for ½ hour. Chop onions. Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add onions and sauté. Slit green chillies and add and sauté till onions become light brown. Add cumin powder, coriander powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder and mix well. Add red chilli paste and sauté. Add chicken and sauté on a high heat for 2-3 minutes. Add salt and remaining tamarind paste and mix. Add 2 cups water and mix well. Cook on high heat till it comes to a boil. Cover and cook on a medium heat till chicken is cooked. Add ground coconut and let the curry simmer on a low heat for 3-4 minutes. Serve hot.
