By Sanjeev Kapoor 15 Nov 2019 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Spllit Bengal gram (chana dal), Medium tomatoes Cuisine Indian Course Dals and Kadhis Prep Time 1-1.30 hour Cook time 41-50 minutes Serve 4 Taste Tangy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Chana Dal - SK Khazana 2 cups Spllit Bengal gram (chana dal) soaked for 1 hour 3-4 Medium tomatoes diced 6-7 Garlic cloves 2 inches Ginger roughly chopped 2 Green chillies to taste Salt 2 tablespoons Oil 2 Medium onions finely chopped 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Coriander powder 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1 tablespo to garnish Fresh coriander leaves chopped Method Put tomatoes in a blender jar. Roughly chop garlic and add to the blender jar along with ginger. Roughly chop green chillies and add to the blender jar along with salt and blend to a coarse paste. Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add onions and sauté till golden brown. Add chana dal and mix well. Add salt and mix. Add turmeric powder, mix well and saute for 1 minute. Add the tomato paste. Rinse the blender jar with a little water and add to the cooker. Add coriander powder and red chilli powder and mix well. Add 2 cups water and mix. Place the lid on the cooker and cook under pressure till 3-4 whistles are released. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes. Open the lid when the pressure is completely reduced. Add coriander leaves and mix well.
