Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Bhutte Ke Cutlet Recipe

  • Corn kernels boiled 500 grams

  • Bread crumbs 1/2 cup

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Fennel seeds (saunf) 1 teaspoon

  • Onions chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Green chillies chopped 6

  • Ginger chopped 2 inch piece

  • Garlic chopped 6 cloves

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 2 teaspoons

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1 small bunch

  • Gram flour (besan) roasted 2/3 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, fennel seeds and chopped onions and sauté lightly.

Step 2

Add green chillies, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder.

Step 3

Stir to mix well. Remove from heat. Grind the cooked corn niblets with this masala in a mixer.

Step 4

Add coriander leaves and salt to taste. Add roasted gram flour and mix.

Step 5

Add bread crumbs and mix well to form a dough. Make equal sized cutlets Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the cutlets till golden brown. Serve hot
