Ingredients
- 3-4 medium onions
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- ¼ cup rice flour
- Oil for deep frying
- Green chutney to serve
Method
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Thinly slice the onions and transfer into a large bowl. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and green chillies and mix well. Add gram flour and rice flour and mix well.
- Drop small portions of this mixture into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange them on a serving plate and serve hot with green chutney.
