Ingredients

  • Lemon Ice Cubes
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • Lemon slices as required
  • A few saffron strands
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • Black salt to taste
  • Drinking soda for serving
  • Imli Ice Cubes
  • ¾ cup tamarind chutney
  • Black salt to taste
  • Drinking soda for serving
  • SaunfShikanji Ice Cubes
  • ¼ cup roasted fennel seeds (saunf)
  • ½ cup castor sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Drinking soda for serving

Method

  1. To make lemon ice cubes, mix saffron with ½ cup of water.
  2. Arrange the lemon slices in each dent of an ice tray.
  3. Take lemon juice in a bowl, add sugar, black salt and 1 cup water and mix well till sugar dissolves. Add saffron water and mix well.
  4. Pour this mixture into each dent of the ice tray and freeze for 6-8 hours.
  5. Demould and put 3-4 ice cubes in each serving glass. Top up with drinking soda and serve chilled.
  6. To make imli ice cubes, take 1 cup water in a bowl, add tamarind chutney and black salt, mix well.
  7. Pour this mixture into each dent of the ice tray and freeze for 6-8 hours.
  8. Demould and put 3-4 ice cubes in each serving glass. Top up with drinking soda and serve chilled.
  9. To make saunfshikanji ice cubes, take 1½ cups water in a bowl. Add sugar and mix well till sugar dissolves. Add salt, fennel seeds and mix well.
  10. Pour this mixture into each dent of the ice tray and freeze for 6-8 hours.
  11. Demould and put 3-4 ice cubes in each serving glass. Top up with drinking soda and serve chilled.
