Ingredients
- 300 grams ripe jackfruit kernels (fanas), seeded
- ¼ cup grated jaggery (gud)
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 teaspoon oil + for deep frying
- Tea for serving
Method
- Put jackfruit kernels and grated jaggery into a blender jar and blend to a fine paste.
- Transfer the paste onto a parat and add salt. Add rice flour, little by little, and knead into a soft dough. Add 1 teaspoon oil and knead some more.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a ball. Apply some water on a plastic sheet, place each dough ball and gently flatten them out with your fingers to form discs.
- Gently slide in the discs, one at a time, and deep-fry till they puff up and turn golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Transfer them into a serving bowl and serve with cups of hot tea.
