Ingredients
- 1 medium Indian salmon (rawas), cut into fillets
- French fries to serve
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1½ teaspoons fish masala
- 1 egg
- Dried breadcrumbs for coating
- Oil for deep frying
- To serve
- Green chutney, as required
- Salad, as required
- Lemon wedges, as required
Method
- Take fish fillets in a large bowl, add salt and lemon juice and mix well.
- Take turmeric powder, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and fish masala in a large plate and mix well. Place the fish fillets over them and apply the masala well on both the sides of the fillets.
- Break the egg in a bowl, add 2-3 tablespoons water and beat well with a fork.
- Dip the fillets in the egg mixture and roll in the breadcrumbs and till well coated on all sides.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Gently slide in the fish fillets and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange the fried fish in a serving bowl, serve hot with green chutney, salad, French fries and lemon wedges.
