Ingredients
- 16-20 small button mushrooms
- 1 cup refined flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- Crushed black peppercorns to taste
- Salt to taste
- ½ teaspoon dried mixed herbs
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli flakes
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley + to garnish
- Crushed cornflakes as required
- Oil for deep-frying
- Grated parmesan cheese to garnish
- Tartar sauce for serving
Method
- Take refined flour in a bowl, add garlic powder, paprika powder, crushed black peppercorns, salt, dried mixed herbs, onion powder, red chilli flakes, fresh parsley and 1¼ cups water and whisk well to make a smooth batter.
- Spread cornflakes on a plate.
- Dip the mushrooms in refined flour mixture and roll in cornflakes and keep them on a another plate.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Slide the crumbed mushrooms into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange the fritters on a serving bowl, garnish with parmesan cheese and parsley. Serve hot with tartar sauce.
