Ingredients
- 500 grams breadfruit (neer phanas), peeled and cut into 2 inch thick strips
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal)
- 2-3 dried red chillies
- 2-3 green chillies
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 10-15 curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick wok, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, split skinless black gram and dried red chillies and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add green chillies, onion and tomato and mix well. Saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Add curry leaves and salt and mix. Continue to sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add red chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well. Saute for 1 minute.
- Add breadfruit and sauté for 1 minute. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes.
- Add coriander leaves and mix.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
