Method

  1. Sliver Pro V Select California Whole Natural Almonds.
  2. Grease a burfi tray with some ghee and line with butter paper.
  3. Take Pro V Premium Figs in a bowl, add sufficient water and soak for 3-4 hours.
  4. Drain the water and add to the grinder jar. Add 2-3 tablespoons water in which the figs were soaked and grind to fine paste.
  5. Heat ghee in a non-stick wok, add mawa/khoya and cook, stirring continuously, for 6-8 minutes or till it starts to leave the sides of the pan.
  6. Add the fig paste and green cardamom powder and mix well.
  7. Add sugar, mix and cook for 5-6 minutes.
  8. Reserve some slivered almonds and add remaining and mix well.
  9. Transfer the mixture into the tray and spread evenly. Sprinkle reserved almonds and set aside to cool completely.
  10. Demould from the tray, remove the butter paper and cut into rectangles.
  11. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve.
