Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons oil
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 1½ tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1½ teaspoons coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 cup fresh tomato puree
- ½ cup canned tomato puree
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon cashew nut paste
- ½ tsp garam masala powder
- 2 teaspoons honey
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add onions and sauté till they turn golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 2-3 minutes or till the raw smell goes away.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and cumin seeds and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the fresh tomato puree, canned tomato puree and salt and mix well. Cover and cook till the oil separates.
- Add cashew nut paste, garam masala powder and mix well. Add honey and mix. Switch the heat off.
- Allow the gravy to cool completely before storing in an air tight container. Store refrigerated.
- Use this for making gravies of your choice.
