Ingredients list for Tilwale Aloo Tikki
- 4 large Potatoes
- 100 grams Cottage Cheese
- a few sprigs Fresh coriander leaves
- 2 Green chillies
- 2 inch piece Ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder (deghi mirch)
- 1/4 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 3-4 tablespoons Bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons Cornflour/ corn starch
- to taste Salt
- 5 tablespoons Sesame seeds (til)
- to deep fry Oil
Method
- Boil, peel and mash potatoes. Grate paneer and keep aside. Clean, wash and finely chop coriander leaves. Remove stems, wash and finely chop green chillies. Peel, wash and finely chop ginger.
- In a large bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, grated paneer, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger, breadcrumbs, cornflour and salt.
- Divide the mixture into sixteen equal portions and shape into flat round thick tikkis. Heat sufficient oil in a kadhai. Coat each tikki with sesame seeds and deep fry in hot oil till golden brown.
- Drain onto an absorbent paper and serve hot.
