Ingredients list for Tamatar aur Matar ka Pulao
- 1 1/2 cups Tamatar Puree soaked
- 1 1/2 cups Basmati Rice
- 1/2 cup Green peas
- 1 tablespoon Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- for garnish Fresh coriander leaves chopped
Method
- Heat oil in a deep non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté for a minute. Add asafoetida and tomato puree, mix well, cover and cook till the oil surfaces.
- Add rice, red chilli powder, salt and garam masala powder and mix well. Add two and a half cups water, stir to mix and bring to a boil. Cover and cook on medium heat for ten minutes.
- Add green peas and mix well. Cover and cook till the rice is completely done. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
