Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina ( suji)
  • 1 tablespoon rice flour
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons grated carrot
  • 6-8 spinach leaves, shredded
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste
  • Oil to shallow fry

Method

  1. Mix the semolina and rice flour in a bowl.  Add yogurt and mix well. Cover and set aside for 6-8 hours. 
  2. Add carrot, spinach leaves, salt, cumin seeds and crushed peppercorns and mix well. You can add little water if required to adjust the consistency. 
  3. Drizzle little oil on a nonstick tawa. Spread spoonful of batter and spread lightly. Drizzle some oil and allow the underside to cook.
  4. Serve hot with coconut and tomato chutney.
