Ingredients list for Spinach pastry
- Spinach blanched and chopped (For filling)
- 2 cups Refined flour (maida) (For dough)
- 1 tablespoon Yeast (For dough)
- 1 teaspoon Sugar (For dough)
- 1 tablespoon Oil (For dough)
- to taste Salt (For dough)
- 2 tablespoons Yogurt (For dough)
- a pinch Baking soda (For dough)
- For filling
- 1 bunch Spinach blanched and chopped
- 1 medium Onion chopped
- 1 Green chilli finely chopped
- 1 medium Tomato finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- to taste Salt
Method
- Melt yeast in two tablespoon warm water. Set aside.
- Make a soft dough with refined flour, yeast, sugar, oil and salt. Set aside for one hour.
- Punch the dough and make two equal balls. Roll each ball to a big thick circle.
- Cut each into 4 triangles. Set aside for five minutes.
- To prepare the filling, heat oil in a non stick pan, add onions and saute for two minutes.
- Add chilli, tomato and salt. Toss till soft. Remove from heat and cool.
- Place the filling on center on the triangle and place the other triangle on top. Seal well.
- Similar way make the other triangles.
- Place the spinach pastries on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven for fifteen minutes at 180º degrees.
- Allow to cool and serve with ketchup.
