Ingredients list for Sirka Pyaaz, Murgh aur Hari Mirch
- 750 grams Chicken skinned and cut into 1 inch pieces on the bone
- 10-12 small Green Chillies steeped in vinegar
- 3 tablespoons Oil
- 2 medium Onions
- 8-10 Cloves
- 16 Fat light green chillies
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 cup Fresh tomato puree
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
Method
- Heat oil in a large non-stick pan. Slice onions.
- Add cloves and onions to the pan. Slit green chillies, without cutting through, and roast them on direct flame.
- Add ginger-garlic paste to the pan, mix and sauté. Add chicken, turmeric powder and salt and mix well.
- Add fresh tomato puree and roasted green chillies and mix well. Cover and cook.
- Add small onions steeped in vinegar, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder and mix. Add 1 cup water and mix. Cover and cook.
- Add garam masala powder and mix. Cover and cook till chicken is completely done.
- Transfer into a serving dish and serve hot.
