Ingredients list for Sev Tamatar

  • 500 grams Tomatoes
  • 10-12 cloves Sev chopped
  • 3-4 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar
  • 300 grams Sev

  1. Wash and cut tomatoes into cubes. Peel and chop garlic. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds. When they crackle add chopped garlic. Sauté till light brown in color.
  2. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder dissolved in little water. Stir for half a minute and add tomatoes. Cook for another five to ten minutes.
  3. Add salt, sugar and one and a half cups of water. Simmer for five minutes. Once it comes to boil, add sev and serve hot immediately.
