Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Rajgira ki Kadhi - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Rajgira flour 1/2 cup

  • Yogurt 2 cups

  • Green chilli-ginger paste 1 tablespoon

  • Sugar 1 teaspoon

  • Ghee 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Curry leaves 5-6

  • Green chillies slit 2

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Fresh coriander sprig to garnish


Step 1

Take yogurt in a bowl, add rajgira flour, green chilli ginger paste and sugar and whisk to make a smooth mixture.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, curry leaves and green chillies and mix. When the seeds begin to change colour, add the yogurt mixture and mix well. Saute for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3

Add sufficient water to get the desired consistency. Add salt and mix well. Cover and cook for 5-6 minutes. Add coriander leaves and mix well. Switch off the heat.

Step 4

Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish a coriander sprig and serve hot.
