Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Prep Time : 11-15 minutes

Cook time : 21-25 minutes

Serve : 4

Ingredients for Quick Corn Curry Recipe

  • Corn Kernels 2 cups

  • Yogurt

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon

  • Spring onion bulbs 8-10

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Green chillies 2

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Spring onion greens 2 stalks

  • Salt to taste

  • Yogurt 1 1/2 cups

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons


Step 1

Heat oil in a non stick pan and add cumin seeds. When they begin to change colour, slice spring onion bulbs and add. Add turmeric powder.

Step 2

Roughly chop green chilies and add along with red chilli powder and corn. Chop spring onion greens and add along with salt and mix well.

Step 3

When all the ingredients are heated through, add yogurt and cook till it curdles slightly.

Step 4

Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
