Paneer Pakora

Ingredients list for Paneer Pakora

  • 250 grams Cottage cheese (paneer) , cut into 1 inch cubes
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 1 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 2 tablespoons Yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves , chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to sprinkle Chaat masala
  • to serve Onion rings
  • to serve Lemon slices
  • to garnish Fresh mint sprigs
  • to serve Green chutney

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  2. Take gram flour in a mixing bowl, add yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, coriander leaves, carom seeds, red chilli powder, salt and sufficient water and whisk to make a semi-thick and smooth batter.
  3. Put cottage cheese cubes to the batter and mix well.
  4. Slide the cottage cheese cubes into hot oil, one at a time, and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper and sprinkle some chaat masala on top.
  5. Place pakoras on one side of a serving platter, place onion rings and lemon slice and mint sprig on the other side and serve hot with green chutney.
