Ingredients list for Onion Tomato Chutney
- 1 medium Onion chopped
- 4 medium Tomatoes chopped
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
- 2 Dried red chillies broken
- to taste Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida
- 4 teaspoons Vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Tamarind pulp
- 100 grams Brown sugar
Method
- Heat oil in a non stick pan, add mustard seeds and when they splutter add urad dal, red chillies and sauté till fragrant.
- Add onions and sauté till they soften. Add tomatoes and salt and mix well. Cover and cook.Add asfoetida, vinegar, tamarind pulp and mix well.
- Cover and continue to cook.Add brown sugar and mix till it blends completely with the tomatoes. Serve hot or cold.
