Just when you thought that green peas are only used to add that extra punch to your savoury dishes, try a rich, creamy matar ki kheer to satiate your sweet buds too!

Ingredients for Mutter Mushroom Recipe

  • Green Peas 1 cup

  • Mushrooms halved 1 cup

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 tablespoon

  • Green chilli finely chopped 1

  • Onion grated 3 medium

  • Tomato grated 3 medium

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Coriander powder 2 tablespoons

  • Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped


Step 1

Heat oil in a pressure cooker.

Step 2

Add cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and saute for a minute.

Step 3

Add onions and saute till brown in colour. Add tomato puree and cook till the tomatoes gets cooked.

Step 4

Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder.

Step 5

Add green peas and mushrooms and one cup water and pressure cook it for three whistles.

Step 6

Remove and serve hot with coriander leaves.
