Ingredients list for Methiwale Chawal
- 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked and drained
- 2 cups Fresh fenugreek leaves (methi) finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 medium Onion
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- to taste Salt
- 2 medium Tomatoes finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Slice onion.
- Add cumin seeds and onion to the pan and sauté till onion is translucent.
- Add fenugreek leaves and mix well. Add salt and mix again and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, turmeric powder and coriander powder and mix well. Add rice and 3 cups water and mix well. Add red chilli powder and mix well. Cover and cook on medium heat till the rice is done.
- Transfer into a serving plate and serve hot.
