You might be picking out these emerald hued little jewels from your food. But, wait, before you do that anymore! As these are a good source of fibre and potassium, which keeps all of our body cells functioning properly. Just when you thought that green peas are only used to add that extra punch to your savoury dishes, try a rich, creamy matar ki kheer to satiate your sweet buds too!

Ingredients for Matar Paneer Samosa Recipe

  • Green Peas blanched 1/2 cup

  • Cottage Cheese grated 1/2 cup

  • Samosa patti 8

  • Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger,grated 1/2 inch piece

  • Chaat masala 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 2

  • Salt to taste

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Oil to deep fry

Preparation

Step 1


Coarsely grind peas and transfer into a bowl.

Step 2


Add paneer, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, ginger, chaat masala, green chilli, salt, garam masala powder and coriander leaves and mix well.

Step 3


Brush water on the edges of each samosa patti. Place some green peas-paneer mixture on one side of each patti and fold the patti to form a samosa.

Step 4


Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry the samosas, on medium heat, till golden brown and crisp.

Step 5


Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot.
