Ingredients list for Lahori Fish Fry
- 250 grams Fish fillet boneless, cut into 2 inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon Caraway seeds (shahi jeera)
- 1 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
- 1 tablespoon Dried pomegranate seeds (anardana)
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
- to taste Salt
- a pinch Black salt (kala namak)
- 1 Egg
- ½ Lemon
- 2-3 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
- to sprinkle Chaat masala
Method
- Grind together coriander seeds, caraway seeds, carom seeds and pomegranate seeds to make a fine powder.
- Take fish in a bowl. Add ground powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt, black salt, egg, lemon juice and mix. Add gram flour and mix well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Deep-fry the marinated fish pieces in hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Sprinkle some chaat masala on top and serve hot.
